Tri-Generation (CCHP)

What it is?

Combined cooling, heat and power Tri-Generation (CCHP) is the production of combined cooling, heat, and electrical power from a single generator or process. The trigen system produces electricity and useful heat which is utilized for hot water, space heating or steam production, as well as energy efficient cooling. Power plant based on Rgen Power reciprocating engines is perfect solution for tri-generation.

Applicable Fuel

Natural gas
LNG & CNG
Biogas
Wastewater/Landfill gas
Hydrogen
Associated petroleum gas
Syn gas
etc.

Who cares (application)

It is used in almost all manufacturing industries, widely municipal and agricultural sectors, as well as in wahrehouses, commercial buildings and supermarkets.
Many industrial sites and public buildings, such as airports, hospitals, shopping malls and large manufacturing, have both heating and cooling needs that can be effectively met by a tri-generation power plant. Also, sites which located in hot climatic zones often need constant cooling instead of thermal energy. To maximize the overall efficiency of a tri-generation plant, it must be located in close proximity to the consumer.

How it works

Tri-generation technology (CCHP) is based on Cogeneration (CHP) but add another valuable product – cooling. Heat which produced by reciprocating engine can be converted into cooling for air conditioning or refrigeration. Based on CHP technology, heat and electricity are produced simultaneously from a single fuel source.
Produced heat can have one of the following forms: high temperature hot water (1) , steam (2) and hot air (3). With tri-generation (CCHP) process absorption chiller or absorption refrigeration system will convert heat into chilled water or sub-zero refrigeration.
If needed, heat and cooling can be produced simultaneously or at different times.
